The selected candidate will fulfill the teaching functions in a manner that promotes quality of student learning and fiscal sustainability aligning with the college’s core mission, vision and strategic direction. Accountabilities: Mathematics Faculty will provide students with quality teaching in a full range of community college mathematics courses or a mix of mathematics and transfer level engineering courses. The instructor will provide quality education and leadership in curriculum development and implementation. The instructor will participate in division and college-wide leadership committees and professional development opportunities. Required Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field (engineering, physics, etc.) with 30 quarter credits or 20 semester credits of graduate level equivalent mathematics is required. Experience: One year or equivalent (45 quarter credit hours) of teaching experience in community college level mathematics is required. Description: Edmonds Community College is looking for a full-time tenure-track instructor in Mathematics to begin Fall 2011. The instructor will be responsible for teaching and providing leadership in a variety of mathematics courses including algebra, precalculus, differential equations, linear algebra, and statistics. In addition to teaching, this position will require: (1) developing and modifying curricula; (2) advising students in related academic programs; (3) participating in department/division activities; and (4) performing related professional responsibilities. The teaching assignment may include early morning or late afternoon/evening classes. The assignment may also include teaching online. This is a tenure-track position that reports to the Dean of the Natural Sciences and Mathematics Division.
